International Coastal Cleanup - Saturday 15th September 2018

On Saturday 15th September 2018, scouts assisted Turtle Village Trust in cleaning up Salt Pond on Chacachacare for International Coastal Cleanup 2018. Over 60 bags of garbage were collected.

Venturing Fest - 1st - 6th July 2018

Fourteen scouts along with seven leaders attended the VenturingFest 2018 camp at Summit Bechtel Reserve (SBR), West Virginia, USA from July 01 to 06, 2018. SBR is also the site of the 2019 World Scout Jamboree. Scouts from all over the US, Canada, and ireland were present at VenturingFest. The activities included ziplining, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, shooting, archery, paddleboarding, and more. It was a fun learning experience for the boys despite the heat and long walk to the mess hall. A highlight of the camp was the culture night, where scouts from other countries where invitied to try some local snack such as pholourie and khurma, and listen to steelpan played by our scouts. The boys spent 3 days in New York sight seeing before returning home.

23rd World Scout Jamboree - 28th July - 8th August 2015

Thirty scouts, four Unit Leaders, four Contingent Management members, and six IST's attended the 23rd World Scout Jamboree in Japan from July 28 to August 08, 2015. The group spent five days in Osaka, Japan before the Jamboree and on their return they spent two days in London.

7th Koch International Sea Scout Cup - June 22nd - 28th, 2014

The 7th International Sea Scout Cup sailing competition was held from June 22 to 28, 2014 in Long Beach, California. Kester Wade and Andrew Agard competed and placed 4th in the Kiwi Cup. They also received the sportsmanship award.

World Youth Day, Brazil - July 18th - 31st, 2013

Ten scouts attended World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with Pope Francis. They arrived in Brazil on July 18 and returned to Trinidad on July 31, 2013.

6th Koch International Sea Scout Cup - June 22nd - 28th, 2012

Kevan "Nick" Lee Lum and Troy Sammy represented Trinidad & Tobago and our troop at the 6th William I Koch International Sea Scout cup in California, USA from July 22 to 28, 2012. This youth sailing regatta is open to sea scouts between the ages of 14 and 21 and is held every two years. This year, scouts from Finland, Brazil, USA, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and UK also competed. Troy and Nick placed 16th overall out of 40 teams.

Hochoy Flag Competition 2011 - 28th - 29th October, 2011

A patrol of venture scouts led by Anderson Thompson, which included Andrew Agard, Mark-Anthony Blackman, Trevin Lewis, Jarryon Paul, Troy Sammy and Menesheh Tarquini took part in the National Scout Association's Hochoy Flag Competition from October 29th to October 30th, 2011. The patrol placed first in the competition. First Trinidad Sea Scouts also won this competition in 2009 but were unable to take part in 2010.

22nd World Scout Jamboree - 27th July - 7th August 2011

Twenty three scouts from 1st Trinidad Sea Scouts attended the 22nd World Scout Jamboree in Sweden. The Jamboree was held from July 27 to August 07, 2011. The scouts spent five days before the Jamboree sightseeing in Copenhagen, Denmark and eleven of them went to London, England for three days after the Jamboree. Twelve others went to Madrid, Spain to attend World Youth Day with Pope Benedict XVI.

5th Koch International Sea Scout Cup - 1st - 7th August 2010

Che Perez and Kevan "Nick" Lee Lum represented Trinidad & Tobago and our troop at the Fifth Annual William I Koch International Sea Scout Cup from August 1 -7, 2010. This youth sailing regatta is open to sea scouts between the ages of 14 and 21. The event was held at the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut, USA. Forty two man teams from the United States and a number of other countries including Australia, Brazil, Denmark, England, Finland, Germany, New Zealand and Sweden competed. Che and Nick placed 6th in the qualifying races. This put them to race in the top twenty group where they placed ninth.

Hochoy Flag Competition 2009 - 31st October - 1st November, 2009

A patrol of venture scouts led by Njere Edwards which included Anderson Thompson, Antonio Emmanuel, Edward Mootoo and Justin Audroing took part in the National Scout Association's Hochoy Flag Competition from October 31st to November 1st, 2009. The patrol placed first in the competition and completed tasks such as backwoodsman cooking, orienteering, public speaking and planning events.

14th Caribbean Jamboree - 6th - 14th August 2009

The 14th Caribbean Jamboree “CARIBJAM,” was held held in Georgetown, Guyana from August 6 - 14, 2009. The group was led by Mikhail Woodruffe. The event was a success with scouts making international friendships and engaging in various scouting, sporting and cultural activities. Apart from Trinidad & Tobago, there were groups from Barbados, Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, Guyana, Jamaica and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Scouts took part in daily off-site activities including visits to factories, a Water Park, Community Service and shopping in the city. They also participated in a Route March, Sports Festival, Global Development Village, Campfire and nightly cultural shows.

Hi-Sierra Rendezvous 2008 - 10th - 16th August 2008

The Hi-Sierra International Scout Rendezvous was held at Camp Hi-Sierra in the Western Sierra Nevada mountains of California, USA from August 10-16, 2008. First Trinidad Sea Scouts was represented at this Jamboree for the third time, having attended in 2000 and again in 2002. The group left Trinidad on August 4th and returned on August 20th. They spent the days before and after the Jamboree at the homes of scouts parents in San Jose and went sight seeing and attended various events in the area.

4th Koch International Sea Scout Cup - 13th - 19th July 2008

David Milne and Che Perez represented Trinidad & Tobago and our troop at the Fourth Annual William I Koch International Sea Scout Cup from July 13-19, 2008. The five-day event was held at the Naval Academy’s Sailing Centre in Annapolis, Maryland, USA. Teams from the United States and a number of other countries including Australia, Brazil, Denmark, England, Finland, Germany, New Zealand and Sweden competed. David and Che did extremely well, placing 6th overall. In addition David received an award for being one of the more helpful participants.

21st World Scout Jamboree - 27th July - 8th August 2007

Fifty one scouts from First Trinidad Sea Scouts along with two leaders attended the 21st World Scout Jamboree in Essex, England from July 27 to August 08, 2007. The boys spent the days before and after the Jamboree sightseeing in London. The Trinidad & Tobago contingent also attended a reception at the Trinidad High Commission in London hosted by the T&T High Commissioner Mrs Glenda Morean-Phillip. Twenty four scouts were taught by Parry's pan school, Tacarigua, Trinidad to play the steelpan (Trinidad & Tobago's national instrument) before the Jamboree and were a hit at the Jamboree appearing on BBC radio and TV.
